Statewide Energy Efficiency Best Practices Forum

Municipal Green Building Conference

Description: Since its inception in 2000, the annual Municipal Green Building Conference and Expo (MGBCE) has become a very important gathering of leading sustainability and green building advocates within both the public and private sectors in southern California. Hosted by the Southern California Gas Company at the ERC building in Downey, this annual Spring conference and trade show provides training, education and outreach to inform local government agencies, building industry professionals and the general public about the principles, practices and products associated with green building.

Description: This was the first Team Leaders Meeting of the 2010-2010 Program Cycle. Moving forward, these meetings will be held two times per year and representatives are invited to attend from each of our Partner Cities. Key agenda items included a program update for 2009 energy savings goals and activities, leveraging CEP resources to create CEP^2 (CEP Cost Effective Packages) to save money and energy for municipal projects, On-Bill Financing and financial solutions presentation by Gary Levingston of SCE, various programs available to Partner Cities on both the city and community side, strategic planning activities available for Partner Cities, and a farewell address from Stephen Kozowyk, Project Coordinator for the successful Tune-Up program.

Energy Star Portfolio Manager Training through the Community Energy Partnership

Description: The CEP Benchmarking project confronts the problem of “What isn’t measured isn’t managed.” In order to help our Partner Cities get a handle on their energy use, we are asking them to track their energy consumption data using Energy Star Portfolio Manager. This webinar reviewed how to get started with Energy Star Portfolio Manager so that they can start benchmarking their energy use and track future savings.
