Residential

The Community Energy Partnership provides residents with the information on how to save energy and money. The CEP engages residents of Partner Cities by raising awareness and promoting smart energy use through energy efficiency and conservation and informing residents about the various energy and money saving utility programs. For a LIST OF RESIDENTIAL ENERGY PROGRAMS, click here. For a list of energy programs available to businesses, visit our business page.

Energy Education & Outreach

Through participation in various community events, CEP staff reach out to individuals and families, educating about energy creation, its environmental impacts and how we can reduce usage. The CEP participates in or hosts local community events like festivals, senior events, energy workshops and other gatherings. We provide information on utility programs, energy–saving behaviors, and purchasing choices to help consumers to reduce their energy use, save money on their utility bills, and help the environment.

The CEP also hosts "Efficiency First! Presentations" short energy education seminars that provide opportunities for residents to learn about saving energy in their homes.

Energy Efficient Technologies

The CEP encourages the use of technologies creating immediate electricity and natural gas savings for residents.

Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs): use 75% less energy, and last about 10 times longer than standard incandescent light bulbs. To learn more about CFLs see our CFL Factsheet. For more information regarding disposal of CFL bulbs visit Earth911 or click here.

Low-flow Faucet Aerators & Showerhead Kit: save water and energy by introducing air into the water stream. For more information see our droplet flyer.

Torchiere Lamps: halogen torchieres use 250 watts of electricity and are fire hazards reaching temperatures close to 1,000 degrees. Dimmable fluorescent torchieres use only 55 watts and generate much less heat. Thank you to all torchiere exchange participants for making the program a great success!

If you have an inefficient lamp you would like to exchange, Southern California Edison offers the Operation Lamp Exchange Program. Click here for their event calendar.
