Efficiency First! @ Your Business Presentation

Presenters: Denise Lellan - The City of Santa Clarita, Laurel Faulkner - The Energy Coalition, Doris Do - The Energy Coalition, Gil Delgado - Southern California Edison
Description: Through EECBG funding, the City of Santa Clarita is launching a Green Energy Incentive Program where businesses apply for grants to increase the Energy Effiency of their buildings. The City is hosting a morning and afternoon workshop for local businesses to introduce the program to interested applicants. The CEP will be delivering our “Efficiency First! @ your business” presentation to review all available utility non-residential programs, including On-Bill Financing, along with information about the benefits of energy efficiency and managing energy use through benchmarking.

Efficiency First! Workshop
Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Location: Sustainable Works, 1744 Pearl Street, Santa Monica
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM PST
Presenters: Laurel Faulkner - The Energy Coalition, Drew Lowell-Britt - EcoMotion, Stuart Cooley - City of Santa Monica and Mike Craikaeg - Catalina Ballast & Bulb
Description: This workshop began with a brief overview of the Solar Santa Monica and Sustainable Works programs. Participants then learned easy do-it-yourself tips on how to save money and energy at their home using by incorporating efficiency first and recieved a free energy efficiency kit to get them started. Attendees also heard information about energy saving programs available to them as Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas customers. A Community Energy Partnership contractor finished the workshop with a live step-by-step demonstration on how to caulk and weatherstrip leaky doors and windows.

Description: At a Brown Bag Lunch, Bank of America employees learned about easy Do It Yourself tips on how to save energy and learned about programs available to them through Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas Company. All attendees received two CFLs and additional energy efficiency information to get them started with their savings.

Description: Moreno Valley Rotary Club meets weekly on Tuesdays at Brandon’s Restaurant. The Community Energy Partnership was invited by Rotary Club member and SCE Public Affairs Representative, Raymond Hicks to speak about energy efficiency. The Rotary Club learned about easy Do It Yourself tips on how to save energy and learned about programs available to them through Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas Company. Rotary Club Members that participated also went home with a free energy efficiency starter kit.

Description: Attendees came out to learn how to save energy, money and the environment by putting energy efficiency first. They got to hear tips on how to save energy, programs available to them through Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas Company, along with what the First Presbyterian Church is doing to go green. Each household also received a free energy efficiency starter kit.
